Exploring Hydraulic Machinery Repairs and Maintenance

Hey, my name is Evelyn Tapiwa. I regularly work with hydraulic machinery, but I do not perform the repairs. Instead, we call in professional mechanics to perform the maintenance and restoration tasks on a strict schedule. Got A Chain Link Fence? Decorate It For Summer

If you have a chain link fence around your home or business, you can liven it up by decorating it for summer. You can do this by planting colorful flowers, using container flowers, and spray painting the fence.

Plant Climbing Flowers

You can plant climbing roses along the fence.  These roses will climb up and over the fence to cover it with flowers.  There are different types you can choose from including:

  • New Dawn
  • Golden Showers
  • Lady banks
  • Rambling rector
  • Veilchenblau

You can also plant some morning glories, purple passionflower, honeysuckle, may pop, purple passion vine, and more.

Use Container Flowers

Container flowers look great if you set them along the chain link fence. Purchase already made containers at garden centers, or you can create your own beautiful containers. Whatever you choose, make sure it is fully of bright and colorful flowers. Some great flowers to choose include:

  • Chrysanthemum
  • Nemesia
  • Snapdragon
  • Calendula
  • Johnny Jump-Up
  • Bacopa
  • Petunias

Check with someone at the garden center to help you choose flowers that will grow well where you live.

Paint the Chain Link Fence

Painting the fence instantly makes it look ready for summer. Before you start, make sure the fence is completely clean.  To do this, use a garden hose to spray it down with water. Put a few drops of liquid dish detergent into a two-gallon bucket of water. Dip a cloth in the water, and use it to wipe down the fence. When you are finished, wait for the fence to be completely dry before you start painting it.

Choose a spray paint that is both a rust inhibitor, and made to be used outside. Put some vinyl mats, painter's cloth, or cardboard, on each side of the fence to keep paint off the grass. Spray paint one side, and then repeat for the other side. Let it completely dry before you continue, which may take 24 hours or longer. You should also make sure there is no rain in the forecast before you start painting. You need at least two days of sunshine.

Instead of letting your chain link fence be an eyesore, take time to do these things. They work well whether you have a business or for your home. If you have a large fence, you may want to consider hiring a contractor to clean and paint it for you. They have equipment they can use to do the job much quicker.
